Unfortunately, the course was not exactly around the corner and we often had problems with the weekly appointments. Therefore, after a few months, we decided to try individual private lessons. However, we also had to plan weekly for two hours each arrival and departure. In addition there were immense costs, so that we also rejected this variant again. Finally, we decided to self-study. Said and done…

  • Hey you northerners,

I think the review is good and I'm glad that you get along so well with the book. Above all, I would be interested to know with which books you may have had less great experiences and why. Since I am a teacher myself, I am always happy about different learner feedback.

However, I find it very important: every person learns differently and everyone fits a different book. Therefore, some time ago I wrote a series of "objective" textbook reviews to inform different types of learners. A comparison with the other textbooks is somewhat difficult because we have always used it with accompaniment or in class with a teacher. In general, we would not have been able to cope with self-study with these teaching materials, which are suitable for accompaniment in a course of different quality. So far we have used "Et år i Norge" (first VHS course), "Norsk for deg" (continuation at VHS with new teacher) and "Ny i Norge" (extra ordered in Norway, teacher was native speaker). "Ny i Norge" helped us the most to learn the >

Currently we are therefore excited by "Nils", although it just as a classic textbook or to really start at "zero", seems only partially suitable. In the addition, deepening and accompaniment of other learning measures as well as to the refresher it is in our view again very well done.

Maybe we can exchange views in the further progress of our study. We thank you again for the input and best regards, Conny and Sirko

    • Hei thought you two and tusen takk for the detailed answer! 🙂
Your experiences so far are absolutely understandable for me. "Ny i Norge" I have here, have also heard good things so far, but can not test it completely. Currently I am testing "Med tusen ord" and am very curious.
We are happy to continue sharing and I like to link your review as a supplement to mine.
