RV site Northern Norway: Next to the E10 on Hamnøy (Lofoten)

For us there is a kind of personal romance factor in the pitches. Unfortunately, this is very individual and subjective - so difficult to measure, otherwise we would specify this value here. The parking space between the European route E 10 and the fishpens on the small Lofoten island of Hamnøy would not go well, but has a lot of practical advantages. It is located in one of the most beautiful regions in the Lofoten, despite the location directly on the sea well protected from the wind, very easy to reach and above all in the midst of sensational photo opportunities.

Whether you want to fly the drone or photograph one of the famous panoramas in the evening or the next morning - you are almost always in the middle of it all. So we have been able to take some great pictures during our stay here. In addition we were glad that with a strong wind over 15 meters / second a protection was given by the stone massif. Traffic on the nearby road is also limited in the evening and at night. Only the next morning were again some tourists on the way ...

The pitch on the island Hamnøy - not nice, but great location

From this place you can reach in a short time the neighboring island Sakrisøy with a great restaurant, where there are the best Fischburger in Northern Norway. Only a few kilometers further, and from the pitch also accessible by bike, there is a COOP grocery store. The popular fishing village Reine and the well-known photo point Reinhalsen are not far away from here and easy to reach.

All in all, it can be said that it is a perfect place for an overnight stay in this region. There are hardly any quiet and off-site parking spaces anyway. The next overnight accommodation option is to follow the E 10 in the direction of Å and use the municipal (paid) parking space directly in Reine at the sports field. Incidentally, there is also a disposal facility and the possibility of drinking water.

The whole story of our road trip, on which we have discovered and used this pitch among other things, can be found at this link.

The well-known view of the Rorbuer of Hamnøy is only about 100 meters away

The facts / details:

  • Price: free / without price
  • suitable for vans / vans / motorhomes and teams (access directly from the European road possible and the turning is here even for larger teams no problem)
  • no WLAN / good mobile network (4G)
  • no further infrastructure (supermarket, etc.) in the immediate vicinity, COOP market about 5 - 7 kilometers away (direction Reine)
  • no sanitary facilities and no electricity connection available
  • no restrictions / camping is allowed here
  • Supply and disposal about 10 kilometers away in the village of Reine (municipal system) possible
In the morning almost taken in front of the motorhome - the view over the bay of Reine

Here you will find this recommended parking space:

Conny and Sirko

"Yes, we love this country ..." - that's the beginning of the Norwegian national anthem, and yes, we too - Conny Sirko - love this country, its inhabitants, the magnificent scenery, the peace and tranquility that we enjoy there and throughout Scandinavia Find. We've been touring the North more than 20 times - at different times, in many regions and in all variations. The idea for this homepage came to us last year, because then we have the opportunity to write the permanent wanderlust to the north of the soul and hopefully inspire you for it. So: heading north!
