There is also a clear, fold-out map with all the hotspots and contents of the magazine. In this way you can orient yourself quickly and easily and use the map as a basis for your own travel planning.
In the "Special Guide" the reader receives in a well-structured form important information and basics for his own journey, whether for the city trip to Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger or his camping or active holiday in Norway.
Two special routes, carefully selected and tested by the reporters of the magazine, offer the opportunity to optimize your next road trip or to follow it directly. The reader has the opportunity to choose one of these tours or even combine them. Interestingly enough, most of the recommended locations and hotspots on our last big tour in Norway have just been visited by us.
In total, the reader receives on 145 pages a lot of information, inspiration and exciting topics around the beautiful country in the north. As usual at the "GEO", the contents are carefully researched and implemented in an attractive way. Already the cover picture of the current issue immediately makes you want to pack your bags again to travel to the north.
We find the selection of topics very varied and varied. In this way the "Norway beginner" as well as the experienced "Norway traveler" are equally addressed. Even after more than 30 own trips to Norway, we have learned and learned many more things about the country while studying the current "GEO SPECIAL". However, in this way, our personal "bucket list" of things still to be experienced in the kingdom grows ...
The interview with Crown Prince Haakon, whom we last saw on the National Holiday in Oslo on the royal balcony ( here is our article ), impressed us in particular. It shows once more how popular the heir to the throne is and why the royal family is so popular in the Norwegian people.
In the same way, the detailed reportage of the hike across the Besseggen ridge addressed us (cover picture of this article), since we have mastered this only a few days ago. Immediately, the still fresh memories of it were awake again and we can understand every word of this story very well. Again, the detailed facts and detailed information immediately catch our attention.
Only in the article about the northern lights in Tromsø we lack some facts that are certainly important for the newcomer on his first trip. Especially with regard to the technical requirements of the equipment and the camera, some details would have enhanced the contribution even more.
We now know - after browsing through the new "GEO" - that in any case we need to go to Kvalvika Bay on our Lofoten trip this September, even if it is only accessible on foot ... 😉
(For reasons of transparency, we would like to point out that we have received a free copy of the magazine for our review)
In any case, the 9.50 euros for this high-quality magazine well laid out and the purchase of this booklet for any Norway fan almost mandatory.
